Our young and growing organization is
looking for seasoned veterans familiar with how
professional content is implemented in institutional
environments. Of specific interest are those who have
dealt with integrating content generated by internal staffs
and clients with vendor-supplied content and technologies.
Typical areas of expertise may include one or more of the
following: content/content technology product marketing
management, senior product management, knowledge
management, information professional/corporate librarians,
portal development specific to creating valuable content,
online community development. At least ten years
experience in some combination of these areas is sought.
You will be responsible for providing
research and advisory services to the senior professional
staffs of major institutions and well-funded startup
companies, including the development of research papers,
management presentations, user deployment assessments,
rollout plan evaluation and development, vendor selection,
strategic marketing plans, and commentary on market trends.
Assignments will be provided on a contract basis,
with individual team members being free to pursue
independent interests outside of the contractual
relationship as their commitments to the assignments allow.
You will be joining a like-minded team of capable
independent professionals who are interested in developing
a true virtual community of colleagues who can work
together to create a positive and rewarding work

contracting with a supportive and sustaining central
organization that can offer global brand recognition.
Qualified applicants will be those
who are either already established as independent
contractors providing management consulting services in one
or more of the above areas or strongly interested in
establishing a consulting practice and able to sustain the
effort to take on this challenge. A high level of written
and oral communications skills are a must, with experience
in delivering papers at conferences, high-level executive
management briefings, and gaining access to senior managers
for research purposes highly recommended. Proficiency in
spoken and written business English is assumed and
required, similar proficiency in other major business
languages a plus. You must be
experienced in or highly comfortable with the concept
of maintaining a professional outlook and lifestyle through
a home office environment, and able to manage your own
in-office technical needs independently as much as
possible. Experience with the fundamentals of core
Microsoft Office Professional products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint,
Outlook) is expected, but no specific technical skills
beyond these are required or expected for production
purposes, though knowledge of content-creating technology
is important from a research perspective. Applicants
should be equipped with their own computer hardware,
preferably a portable, a Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or
6.x browser, and a reliable Internet connection -
high-speed Internet connectivity is highly recommended.
Compensation will be variable, based
on a number of factors, including participation in
projects, number and complexity of projects and the
marketing of project results. All positions offered
at this time are on a consulting services basis. |
