Not necessarily – but as soon as you start using one, the Kassensicherungsverordnung (KassenSichV) applies, which means TSE compliance is required. This applies to all electronic POS systems in Germany since 2023, regardless of business size or payment method. Shore meets this requirement and automatically issues a compliant receipt for every transaction. That said, there's currently no general obligation to use an electronic POS system in Germany – you can technically still work with an open cash box.

Two things work best: automatic appointment reminders and upfront payment. Shore sends reminders via SMS, email, or WhatsApp before the appointment. You can also activate an upfront payment for online bookings – the client pays a deposit when booking, making the appointment binding. Both together noticeably reduce no-shows, without you having to chase anyone.

That said: as much as we love animals – our office dogs can confirm – we currently don't support billing based on the GOT (official veterinary fee schedule). This means our POS system isn't suitable for most vets in Germany. In Austria and Switzerland, however, we can support you fully.

Worth knowing: Salonized has been part of Treatwell since 2022 and is closely tied to the Treatwell marketplace.
